Cisco Virtualisation Experience Infrastructure for Desktop Virtualisation
New Cisco VXI training courses available from Fast Lane
Hamburg/Berlin, 22nd March 2012 – Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI) is an end-to-end systems approach that delivers the next generation virtual workspace by unifying virtual desktops, voice, and video. It helps IT provide an exceptionally flexible and secure converged infrastructure for an uncompromised user experience. Everybody who is interested can find out how VXI is implemented and administered in four dedicated training modules designed by Fast Lane, a Cisco Specialized Learning Partner.
VXI offers companies the possibility of implementing desktop virtualisation with end-to-end architecture that integrates all relevant collaboration tools, networks and data centre systems. In order to provide insight into the benefits of this Cisco solution and how to handle it, Fast Lane now offers the following four courses:
- VXI/VDI for Account Managers (VXAM),
- VXI/VDI for System Engineers (VXSE),
- VXI/VDI Proof of Concept Workshop (VXPC) and
- Implementing Virtualization Experience Infrastructure & Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VXDI)
VXI/VDI for Account Managers (VXAM)
VXAM is designed especially for Cisco Account Managers and provides them with key basic information about the advantages of the desktop virtualisation solution. Instructors highlight issues such as how to use the Cisco Unified Communication System (UCS) within a VXI environment and also with VMware View and Citrix XenDesktop. The participants also find out about the thinking behind a virtualised, collaborative working environment.
VXI/VDI for System Engineers (VXSE)
This training course is intended in particular for system technicians, technical solutions architects and Cisco integrators and partners. The focus is on the general concept of desktop virtualisation and a comprehensive look at the VXI solution is provided. The instructors also pass on their knowledge about the core functions of VMware View,Citrix XenDesktop and Microsoft Enterprise Desktop (MED-V).
VXI/VDI Proof of Concept Workshop (VXPC)
VXPC is designed primarily for account managers as well as system technicians, analysts and architects. Practically-based exercises are used to demonstrate the benefits of FlexPod, the data centre solution developed jointly by Cisco, VMware and NetApp, when used within a VMware environment. Various VXI concepts are showcased using practical examples and the instructors also highlight individual FlexPod components such as NetApp FAS3210A and Nexus 5548.
Implementing Virtualization Experience Infrastructure & Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VXDI)
This training course includes extensive practical exercises in the Fast Lane labs and provides participants with the required knowledge for carrying out design, installation, configuration, management and troubleshooting of Cisco VXI environments. Essential information about current storage connection technologies and their underlying protocols is also provided. With regard to the VXI environment in particular, Fast Lane trainers explain, among other things, how the virtualisation platform, the TCP-/IP connectivity and the desktop client can be configured.
