Core Package (Basic, Mentoring, Online Training)

Basic Package
The basic package includes a variety of self-paced e-learning offerings that were developed to cover the basics of expert training and preparation. This package is the foundation of the 360 Program and is a prerequisite for any additional service and material.

Lab Workbook
The Lab workbook includes 25 challenging full-length practice labs to allow students to develop a solid level of expertise. Each scenario is accompanied with a detailed answer key complete with useful diagrams and tables as well as a repository of the Cisco 360 mentor guide output. By using the Cisco 360 mentor guide, students can access a web-based interface and enter IOS show commands as if they were on an actual rack of routers. This allows students to compare the results of their final configuration with the output generated by the Cisco 360 mentor guide.

Assessment Labs
As students are performing various learning activities of this program, they want (and need) to check their progress. The graded assessment labs provide students with a measurement of their progress and in addition, allow students to maximize their learning experience with each assessment they perform by providing detailed score reports that are linked to detailed answer keys and access to the interactive mentor guide.

Once a student has taken a series of assessment labs, he or she will establish a trend of performance. Using the Cisco 360 tracking and trending tools, this information can identify strengths and weaknesses in a series of assessment labs and can help to direct future study activities.

Reference Library
The reference library is designed to provide supplemental resources to a learner’s study effort. While a range of topics are covered in the reference library, a consistent presentation approach is used that involves options analysis and issue spotting. To further support this, the reference library is heavily populated with decision trees (options analysis diagrams).

The reference library is presented in a ten step road map format that helps to guide the student through a structured learning approach.

Online Lessons (VOD)
One of the steps in developing expertise in internetworking technologies is to develop a thorough understanding of each technology. These online lessons are grouped by technology and provide an effective and flexible method to attain a solid understanding of how to deploy each technology. Within each group of lessons, the average length is 15 minutes, which makes the viewing experience more manageable. Each block of lessons is supplemented with a quiz to re-enforce a learner's understanding of the topics presented.

Mentoring Services
Fast Lane’s CCIE 360 mentoring service is an integral part of this program and supports students by offering guidance from an assigned mentor throughout the entire program. Students will receive two types of mentoring: "Asynchronous Mentoring Services" and "Synchronous Mentoring Services".

“Asynchronous” means that there is a time difference between the student asking a question and the mentor providing an answer. This is the case for questions posted to our CCIE 360 discussion forum as well as for questions submitted to the mentor via email.

“Synchronous” means a direct, one-to-one communication between the student and the mentor. This is the case when reviewing the initial assessment lab as well as the results/output of all other graded assessment labs or when having a final mentoring session before taking the actual CCIE lab exam.

As soon as a student enrolls into the program, our mentor will perform an initial interview in order to learn some information about the history of the student. Based on this information, the mentor will immediately begin to adjust a lesson plan for each student.

During the assessment lab review, our mentor will review a given assessment lab with a group of students on a section by section basis in order to optimize the student’s learning experience. The mentor will not only review the technological issues encountered in the lab, the mentor will also apply the options analysis problem solving approach when reviewing the correct answers in the lab.

From a scheduling standpoint, our mentor will ask students to take specific assessment labs during a certain time window. While the students have the flexibility to pick the time and day to perform a given lab, joint mentoring sessions will be scheduled during that time period in order to cover a number of students during one mentoring session.

In addition, students will receive status e-mails from their mentor on a regular basis. This status check will provide feedback on each student's progress and will include recommendations on how to adjust a given student's lesson plan for the upcoming month.

Note: Mentoring services such as review sessions will be delivered based upon a pre-published calendar. To assist in student's scheduling conflicts, the same sessions for the same labs will be offered multiple times and recorded for later playback and reference. These types of mentoring services will be offered over the Internet using a tool such as WEBEX.

Note:Other mentoring services such as student progress reports will be delivered via e-mail.

Note: Student questions will be answered by using our CCIE 360 discussion forum.

Online Training
While self-paced learning using VODs and the reference library works in most cases, some students feel more comfortable attending online classroom sessions where they can listen and interact with a live instructor. For this reason we are offering a number of scheduled virtual classroom sessions, each covering a specific, CCIE-relevant topic or technology.
